Qazi Hussain Ahmad was born in 12 January 1938 – 6 January 2013 in the house of Maulana Qazi Muhammad Abdul Rab at Ziarat Kaka Sahib, Distt. Nowshera, NWFP, Pakistan. He was a prominent religious scholar, Islamic theologian, Islamic democracy advocate, and former Emir of Jamaat-e-Islami, the rightist and right-wing populist political party in Pakistan. He was a strong critic of the counter-terrorism policy of the United States, and was widely known for his opposition against United States' participation in civil war in the neighboring Afghanistan.

Maulana Qazi Muhammad Abdul Rab
A teacher by profession, Maulana knew religious knowledge and political influence to the extent that he was appointed as the resident of Jamiat-e-Ulema-e-Hind for NWFP. Qazi Hussain Ahmed was the youngest among his ten siblings.

Personal life
Qazi Hussain Ahmed was married with two sons and two daughters. His wife and children all are Jamaat-e- Islami activists. He was lodging in a two-bedroom flat. He had full command of Urdu, English, Arabic, and Persian, in addition to his native tongue, Pashto. He was a great admirer of the poet Allama Muhammad Iqbal and quotes from both his Urdu and Persian poetry, at will, in his speeches and conversations.

Education
After having completed early education at home, Qazi Hussain Ahmad was admitted to Islamia College, Peshawar and got his Masters of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Geography from Peshawar University.

Teacher and Business
He served as lecturer for three years, teaching at the graduate level. Owing to his inclination towards the activities of Jamaat, he didnot continue in teaching profession. After that he started his own business. He marked his presence in this field and was elected as Vice President, NWFP (Provincial) Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Political career


Islami Jamiat-e-Talba

His affiliation with the Islamic Movement started in his school days when he joined Islami Jamiat-e-Talaba, Pakistan.

Jamaat -e- Islami 1970
He became member of Jamaat-e-Islami in 1970 and was elected to the office of President of its Peshawar branch. He served Jamaat-e-Islami as Secretary and then Ameer of NWFP province.

Secretary General JIP 1978
He was raised to the office of Secretary General, Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan in 1978.

Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan 1987 - 2008
He elected as Ameer (Chief) of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan in 1987, continues to serve in that capacity, getting re-elected four more times (1992, 1994, 1999, 2003). In 2008, he excused to be elected once more and the members of his Party (Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan) elected Syed Munawwar Hassan as the new President of the Party.

Qazi Hussain Ahmad was first elected as member of the Senate of Pakistan in 1986 for a term of six years.

He was re-elected as such in March 1992, but he resigned as a Senator in 1996 as a protest against the corrupt political system.

JIP Membership Campaign
In 1997 Qazi launched a nationwide campaign to expand the party membership. His open membership campaign brought 4.5 million new members to the Jamaat.

MMA's MNA 2002
He was elected as a Member of National Assembly in 2002 general elections from his native town lagislative. He served as the Parliamentary Laeader of the Opposition Party (muttahida Majlis-e-Amal).

Represent Internationly JIP
Qazi Hussain Ahmad has widely traveled abroad to represent Jamaat at the international forums, leading goodwill missions as well as in his personal capacity to mediate in issues concerning Muslim Ummah. His services during Iran-Iraq and the Persian Gulf War, the Bulkan (Bosnia) crisis and the post-Soviet power struggle in Afghanistan, have been widely commended and appreciated. Even before the Soviet Union invaded Afghanistan, Qazi Hussain Ahmed was in close contact with Afghan mujahideen and had personal terms with top Afghan leaders. He played pivotal role in introducing Afghan jehad to foreign world and gaining countrywide favour for the movement.

With in Country
Within the country, Qazi Hussain Ahmad remains continuously in movement undertaking ceaseless campaign of mass awareness, mobilization and party organization. His patronage of organizations like Pasban and subsequently the formation of Shabab-e-Milli is an open expression of his deep concern for the poor and the oppressed.

S.General Muttahida Shariat Mahaz (1986) , President of MMA
He was Secretary General of the Muttahida Shariat Mahaz (1986). He is also the Central President of seized Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal.

Death
Qazi Hussain Ahmad died on January 6, 2013, at 01:40am Pakistan Standard Time in a local hospital in Islamabad, Pakistan. The cause of his death was reported to be a heart attack..

Qazi sb. Now you are not in action too much, We need you to be in action in specially to united all muslim in one platform . During your period of leadership there were lot of efforts done to unite Shia Sunni. That was a greate job. . Now you have more time to work more to provide a common platform for Muslim Ummah to unite. I mean Ithaad bainul muslimeen.

only leader with a vision and can understand the Iqbal Vision for Pakistan and Muslim Ummah. He even in the age of 70+ is a restless politician. ?I think he is the only honest and brave leader in Pakistan, he is an international fame, well educated, good background and logical person. He never used politics for personal benefits, he always fought for democracy and rule of law. He is just like a pearl among the politicians. We must salute this great Pakistani leader. Please educate me and let me know what does 'Abul Aala' mean? To me Al-Aala is one of the names of Allah Subhan Tala. So what does the name Abul Aala Maududi mean? I will be thankful for the guidance.
