Former Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani
was held in contempt by the Supreme Court for his refusal to write a letter
to Swiss authorities to reopen graft cases against President Asif Ali Zardari. On 26th April 2012, Pakistan's Supreme Court has found Prime
Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani guilty in a contempt of court case.
On 22 June
2012, Raja Pervez Ashraf was elected as the 17th Prime Minister of
Pakistan by a 211–89 vote. Prime Miniter Raja Pervaiz Ashraf is likely
to feel pressure from the courts to reopen corruption cases against
President Zardari.
