Unhappy Olympians lamenting the state of hockey in the country have, once again, demanded the removal of the current Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) officials and threatened to hold a protest in front of parliament.
Former legends assembled at the Karachi Press Club yesterday to make that point. Later, Islahuddin added that they will also try to meet President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf for this cause.
“Our demand is to impose an adhoc set-up,” said Islah. “There should be a five-member committee to run the affairs and we suggest the ruling party to nominate their own candidates. KARACHI : While admitting that facing Pakistan’s Saeed Ajmal will be “tricky”, Ireland’s Kevin O’Brien said that his team have no particular strategy planned out to tackle “one of the best spinners in the world”.

LEEDS: New Zealand wicketkeeper BJ Watling was ruled out Wednesday of the second and final Test against England at Headingley starting Friday.
Watling injured his knee during New Zealand's 170-run first Test defeat at Lord's last week.
