Punjab Youth Festival 2013-14

 

LAHORE: A glittering list of sports events continued to take place under the Punjab Youth Festival 2013-14 village level competitions in Punjab on the third day. More than 120,000 youngsters participated in numerous sports activities and out of them, 13,000 registered victories in their respective games. Competitions of cricket tapeball, tug of war, athletics, billiard, badminton, volleyball and arm wrestling were held in 10,000 grounds of Punjab. In city of Lahore, 1821 players from 16 union councils of seven different towns including Gulberg Town, Samanabad Town, Shalamar Town, Aziz Bhatti Town, Nishter Town, Data GanjBakhsh Town and Wahgah Town took part in 129 sports competitions and 1,109 of them stood victorious. Thick attendance of spectators was also witnessed on third day.

SYDNEY: Australian batsman Phil Hughes was fighting for his life following emergency surgery Tuesday after he was knocked out by a bouncer in a freak incident which shocked cricket. LONDON: A second unofficial test at Loughborough University has found Saeed Ajmal's action for his stock delivery, the offspinner, and his faster balls to be legal. His action for the doosra, however, is still not below the 15-degree limit. Pakistan's National Cricket Academy head coach Mohammad Akram confirmed the news to ESPNcricinfo.
