Karachi: A meeting of Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee for sighting of Shawal moon (Eid ul Fitr) will be held on 29th of Ramazan, August 18 (Saturday) at Pakistan Meteorological Department building Karachi.
The Zonal and District Ruet e Hilal Committee will hold their meetings on Saturday at their respective places after Asr prayers.
Likewise, the Zonal Ruet-e-Hilal committee, Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) will hold its meeting at building of Ministry of Religious Affairs, near General Post Office (GPO) Islamabad.
All information about the position of crescent will be conveyed to Chairman, Central Ruet e Hilal Committee in Karachi on Cell No. 0300 9285203, 021 5688307, 021 9204761, 021 5684550, 021 99261404 (Met Department) for final announcement.
Earlier Pakistan Meteorological Department announced that the Muslim festival of Eid-ul-Fitr would probably be celebrated in the country on August 20.
In a statement issued, the met department said that there are chances of moon sighting on August 19 instead of August 18. |  | See Also in Political News

| Two killed as blast hits madrasa in Peshawar 24 May 2013
PESHAWAR: At least two people were killed and many others injured when a powerful blast took place near a religious seminary in a densely populated area of Peshawar on Friday,
Police said the explosion happened in a car parked outside a local madrasah – Jamia Darul Uloom Islamia – in Peshawar’s Faqir Abad area where Friday prayer was being offered.
Sources said a religious cleric was apparently target of the blast.

Gunmen on Friday opened fire on a convoy of NATO containers in a northwestern Pakistani town near the Afghan border, killing a driver and wounding a helper, officials said.
