THE pop star appeared at Macy’s in New York for the launch of her fragrance, which she said was inspired by her mother, Truth Or Dare.
Floral and wood combined with the scent of vanilla and caramelised amber set the aroma apart from other floral fragrances – a combination that Madonna says reminds her of her mother. “My mother was always wearing Fracas and I always remember her smell, but particularly when I would wake up early in the morning and I would come into my parents bedroom and had a couple of hours of quality time with them,” she said. “And I always smelled the smell of gardenias and tuberose on my mother, so I wanted to create a fragrance that reminded me of her.” | | See Also in Showbiz News

LONDON: US writer Lydia Davis, best known for her unconventionally short stories, on Wednesday claimed the prestigious Man Booker International Prize at a London ceremony.
The New York based author beat off competition from the nine other authors who made the shortlist to win the award, which honours "achievement in fiction on the world stage".
While Davis writes conventional short stories, others consist of just one paragraph or sentence.
