ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court has resumed the hearing of National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) implementation case Wednesday, Geo News reported.
A three-member bench comprising Justice Nasir-ul-Mulk, Justice Asif Saeed Khosa, and Justice Azmat Saeed Sheikh is hearing the case.
Earlier, the hearing of NRO case was adjourned on the request of Aitzaz Ahsan due to contempt of court case against former prime minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani.
On March 8, the court had directed the ex-prime minister to write a letter to the Swiss authorities for reopening the graft cases against President Asif Ali Zardari, regardless of the advice, and submit a report on March 21.
But the ex-premier refused to do so and conveyed the court to take up this matter after the final decision on the contempt of court proceedings. It is worth mentioning here that apex court has declared him as disqualified in the same case.
The court has issued notices to Attorney General Irfan Qadir, Deputy Attorney General, Secretary Establishment Division Nargis Sethi, Secretary Law Yasmin Abbasi, Secretary Interior Siddique Akbar, DG FIA, Chairman NAB Faseeh Bukhari and other concerned lawyers and respondents of NRO case.
The court will also review the matter of beyond the rule appointment of Adnan Khwaja as Chairman OGDCL and Ahmad Riaz Sheikh as Additional Director FIA by the former prime minister Gilani. | | See Also in Political News
