 | NA-151: Abdul Qadir Gilani, nine others to contest by polls 06 July 2012

Islamabad: The Election Commission has announced that by polls for NA-151 Multan-IV will be held on July 19.
Abdul Qadir Gilani the son of former Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani will be among the ten candidates who will contest in the election.
The nomination of seven candidates have been withdrawn which include Malik Ishaq Bucha, Jehanzeb Bucha, Syed Ali Haider Gilani, Nawab Nadeemuddin, Zahid Ameen Gujjar Malik Mehboob and Malik Mohammad Ilyas.
Ishaq Bucha who was contenting the polls from the PML-N withdrew his nomination in favour of Abdul Qadir Gilani and also announced that he was joining the PPP again.
The seat was vacated after former Prime Minister Gilani was disqualified following his conviction in the contempt of court case. Earlier, the Election Commission had also district returning officer and other presiding staff for the polls. |  | See Also in Political News

KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has suspended the party membership of Coordination Committee members Shakeel Umar and Saleem Tajik for indefinite period.
According to the statement issued by the MQM’s coordination committee, the party’s membership of Karachi Tanzeemi Committee (KTC) member Farooq Saleem has also been suspended.
The statement also issued instructions to the MQM workers not to maintain any direct or indirect contact with any of the suspended members.
