 | Fashion Police: Bhavna Ruparel 25 August 2012

Bollywood actor Bhavna Ruparel made an appearance at the screening of the first look of her debut film Chal Pichchur Banate Hain in Mumbai looking as interesting as a bar code. While there’s nothing wrong with her offwhite top with black lace that exudes British girlishness, we are definitely appalled by her ill-fitted pants and not-so-impressive strappy heels.
The Charge sheet
HAIR: Bhavna’s hair is making us yawn. The shine and the straight element is so 90s, it’s making us want to cry out loud. Remember: the bigger, fuzzier your mane, the more high fashion it is. Some curls and some positive frizz would attract our attention but this sleek, characterless hair is making us want to throw Bhavna in the oomph machine and crank the knob right up to the extreme help level.
MAKE-UP: One thing that all women need to accept is that make-up is indispensible. Too little make-up is as big a beauty faux pas as too much. The actor’s skin looks blotchy and uneven which shows the base wasn’t applied properly. If she wanted to go for a nude lipstick shade she should’ve glammed up her eyes. Remember, while applying make-up always keep the rule of third in mind. If you want stronger eyes (with kohl and shadow) go easy on the lipcolour and if want a strong pout, then keep your eyes subtle. You could be a total rebel and try to bring in variations — but just make sure you don’t end up looking Marilyn Manson.
ACCESSORIES: Sadly there are no accessories on this damsel to distract us from her bland ensemble and make-up. To us, Bhavna is the very personification of the diluted cabbage soup Charlie had to drink with his family till he impressed a shady, middle-aged man and got himself a chocolate factory.
OUTFIT: We love Bhavna’s selection of this off-white, almost peach top that exudes the fairytale element that was once found in British fashion. Sadly she ditched her promising wardrobe for her mother’s pants and shoes. The biggest accessory Bhavna is missing here is oomph.
Bail out!
Blake Lively
Blake’s killer fashion sense is probably the reason why screen siren Ryan Reynolds just rolled into her arms and begged for love till she gave it to him. The actor smartly used a statement falcon necklace, a chunky emerald ring and an equally schmancy snakeskin clutch to add zing to her black and white ensemble.
Miranda Kerr
Miranda looks as sharp and clean as a pin in this chessboard ensemble. Even though the model hasn’t experimented much in this look, her leather pipe jeans and statement bag still have us on our knees begging for tuitions. The tight bun is adding the right amount of sophistication to this classic colour combination that has been a hit since the 50s.
Leighton Meester
“Gossip Girl” actor Leighton has absolutely rocked this look with leather pipe jeans, a clean cut white shirt and a contrasting yellow bag that scream ‘I’m expensive and I know it’. The zip detailing on her jeans add the bad girl spice to the attire while her strappy heels make us want to thank God for creating someone who can actually wear them right. | | See Also in Showbiz News
