DERA GHAZI KHAN: Dost Muhammed Khan Khosa on Friday resigned from the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) as the row between him and the party leadership intensified.
A few days earlier, prominent PML-N leader Zulfiqar Khan Khosa — Dost Muhammed’s father — had also resigned from the party.
Dost Khosa dispatched his resignation to the PML-N Punjab office, but will remain a member of the Punjab Assembly. Family sources added that he had also excused himself from a meeting with the top PML-N leadership after the party chief Nawaz Sharif and Chief Minster Punjab Shahbaz Sharif requested an audience with him on Friday.
Sources cited severe disagreements between the PML-N leadership and the Khosa family as being the main cause of Khosa’s resignation. The same sources, however, added that a rapprochement was possible and that Nawaz Sharif was due to meet Zulfiqar Khosa in the next few days in an attempt to mend the fences. | | See Also in Political News
