Colombo: International Cricket Council (ICC) annual awards will take place in Colombo in which awards will be given for 11 different categories to player and umpires.
Pakistan’s Mohammed Hafeez has been nominated for Sprite of cricket and Aleem Dar has been nominated for umpire of the year award.
ICC will give awards in 11 different categories. For Cricketer of the year Hashim Amla, Mikel Clark, Kumar Sangakkara and Vernon Philander were nominated for the award.
For ODI cricketer of the year Indian skipper MS Dhoni, Virat Kholi, Sri Lanka’s bowler Lasith Malinga , former skipper Kumar Sangakkara nominated for award.
Aleem Dar, Billy baudyn, Dharma Sena, Richard Cattle Borough, Rodney Tucker and Simon Tufyl were nominated for ICC Umpire of the year category.
Mohammed Hafeez, Jacques Kallis, Daniel Victory and AB de Villiers were nominated for ICC Spirit of the year category.
Awards will be given in the two categories will be given to women on awards ceremony.
According to Pakistan Cricket Board that we are not boycotting the awards ceremony, few members of the cricket team squad will attend the ceremony while none of board’s official going to attend the ceremony. |  | See Also in Sports News

Pakistan umpire Asad Rauf has been withdrawn by the ICC from officiating in the upcoming Champions Trophy in England following media reports that indicated he was under investigation by Mumbai Police.

India's sports minister on Thursday branded as "shameful" the spot-fixing scandal involving the arrest of three cricketers, including Test fast bowler Shanthakumaran Sreesanth, and 11 bookmakers.
