Today's Pakistans reminds me those days of 12th to 20th century of Christianity in Europe when religious persons had full influence on government and kings of that time. People were burnt alive and hanged if someone tried to oppose religious leader of those time.

This law (Qanoon e Risalat) is not applicable in this day and age because too many innocent people have died. Salmaan Taseer was killed and the murderer rejoiced and claimed victory , victory for what? for being barbaric and insane when it comes to life of minorities or people who dont agree with us. Not a single religious group condemned it because they fear losing their fraternity of bigots. Muslims have been brainwashed to the point of no return, where Muslim is afraid of another Muslim, forget about other Believers, Hindu, Sikh ,Jews or Christians . we can say that we are religion of peace but we have zero tolerance. This is because the religion has been hijacked. Salmaan Rushdi has been condemned to this day. Muslims are living in false world, where they think they have complete custody of the Heaven and Hell. If that was the case then God would wipe out all others and our Prophet (PBUH) would not be the number one man ever to walk on the face of this earth.

Just imagine if in the US there was a blasphemy law , since Muslims don't believe in Christ being son of God they would have all been charged with blasphemy against Jesus , but instead they respect others and their freedom to believe and say what they want to . Discussion is on the right lines. We are very short sighted and small minds fail to discuss ideas that undermine our beliefs and fundamental tenets of Islam.
I am strongly of the opinion and have been staunchly advocating that since Islamiat was introduced as compulsory subject at all levels,its examination in current system should not be through set examination paper because during examinations I have witnessed examines not only committing cheating while writing the definition of faith but tearing pages of holy references and throwing them in twisted bundles of pages on floors , in cars ,out of the window, paths, even in toilets.
Likewise in print media, charts and calenders , in scrapes we are found desecrating holy quotations.
If we realize that our duty is to attract, hold and win non belivers and to convert them to devine faith we must be more lenient and graceful to them and owing to our arrogance they are not only repellent but also in some cases they seek immigration abroa |

I am so thankful as a Muslim and as Pakistani, that our religious leaders like Maulana Tahir saheb have realized, what wrong Pakistanis are doing when it comes to Religion.
Do not expect from Government, she is so week in front of molvis. Maulana is right about that Quranic verses printed in news papers, are not handled with care and respect. I have another observation; Religious groups display Quranic scripts on large banners on our roadways. In many cases Quranic scripts are painted on the walls and left in the open. Such displays are most of the time, subject to unholy and very dirty mud thrown on them due to vehicular traffic. What we do about such practice.
