Hamid Mir: Please correct your records. Tariq Fatmi was appointed but never resumed office of the Ambassador of the US. so factually you cannot say that he was the Amabassador. he was a victim of a group that did not like his appointment although he served for many years as a high official in New York , consulate office.

Copy of the letter sent to the Home Secretary of the UK:

Rt Hon Theresa May MP
House of Commons
London
SW1A 0AA

Dear Home Secretary

I am writing in relation to the self exiled MQM leader Mr Altaf Hussain who is residing in London.

Mr Hussain recently gave a press conference on the 9th of September 2011 which was covered by ARY and GEO news live on TV. In this press conference Mr Hussain stated he would withdraw the appeal to his workers to remain peaceful. I take this to mean that he will allow them to commit violence. Mr Hussain gave this threat on live television. Furthermore, in a separate gathering where Mr Hussain was giving a speech (The video of this is available on youtube) Mr Hussain openly stated that landowners of Punjab should measure their size and MQM would prepare their body bags. The reason why I have quoted you this speech is because the dead bodies which are found on a regular occurrence in Karachi have been found dumped there in Body bags. As a British Citizen I find it hard to comprehend how this individual is openly allowed to make threats of violence sitting in the UK.

I would also like to bring to your attention that a Canadian Federal court has found MQM to be involved in terrorist activities. Mr Hussain has absconded from justice in Pakistan and has murder cases registered against him there. Mr Zulfiqar Mirza the former home minister for the province of Sindh, Pakistan, who is also a member of the ruling party, had put the blame of the killings in Karachi on the doorstep of MQM which is headed by Mr Hussain. Furthermore, Mr Mirza had alleged that Mr Hussain had personally told him that MQM would not stop killing pathans (an ethnic group).

It is on record that in the early 90s MQM had a slogan ‘Anybody who is traitor of the leader (Altaf Hussain) deserves death’. Moreover, very recently it has been reported in a Joint Investigation Team (headed by the major investigation bodies) report in Pakistan that MQM had the highest number of target Killers in Karachi who were in charge of murdering political opponents and anybody who opposes the political party. Furthermore, in a separate official report which was presented to the Pakistani Supreme Court, the MQM had the highest number of members who were involved in extortion.

Mr Hussain is heading his party from the UK with complete immunity from the law, whilst his party has been widely implicated in the Karachi violence and the innocent blood which has been spilt there on a daily basis. I would urge you to investigate this matter urgently and take the necessary action against Mr Hussain.

I would be grateful if you could reply to this letter within the next 2 weeks

Yours sincerely
