| Bomber Targets Top Pakistani Policeman, 8 Killed |
| | The Pakistani Taliban said it was responsible for a suicide bombing targeting a senior police officer in Karachi Monday. Chaudhry Aslam was safe, but the attack killed at least 8 people _ 6 police officers and a mother and daughter. (Sept. 19).
At least eight people have died in a suicide car bomb attack aimed at a top Pakistani policeman.
A vehicle packed with explosives was driven into the home of the senior counter-terrorism officer in Karachi. He survived unhurt. Police guards and a boy and his mother heading to school were killed.
"Suddenly there was a huge blast. We came out to see what had happened," said eyewitness Ghulam Fareed. "We saw this destruction, these cars, this crater, this devastation." |
